Opus Energy Customers Transferring to Pozitive Energy: What You Need to Know

Opus Energy has confirmed that it will no longer be supplying energy from 1 May 2025. All remaining customer contracts will be automatically transferred to Pozitive Energy (PE) — and if you’re affected, it’s important to know what that means for your account, your rates, and your next steps.
As a consultancy that already works closely with Pozitive, we’re ideally placed to support your business during this transition — whether you stay, switch, or want help navigating the handover.
🔄 What’s Happening?
Opus Energy has confirmed it is completing its market exit and will no longer be supplying energy. In a recent customer update, they shared that:
“We’ve signed an agreement to sell all of our remaining customer portfolio to PE [Pozitive Energy]. The transfer of your contract(s) is expected to take effect on or shortly after 1 May 2025.”
This follows Opus’s earlier:
Now, they are formally exiting the energy market, handing over all remaining customers to Pozitive Energy — a supplier we already work with and know well.

🧾 Submit a Final Meter Reading
To avoid billing surprises or disputes, send a final meter reading to Opus before 1 May.
You can do this:
- Via your My Opus Energy account (under "Energy Usage")
- Or by texting “Start” to 07723494043 and following the prompts
But you don’t need to navigate this alone — if you're unsure, just contact us and we'll guide you through it.
Once the switch happens, you’ll get a Welcome Pack from Pozitive Energy confirming your new billing arrangements. But for any billing queries, payment changes, or account updates — come to us first. We can liaise with PE on your behalf.
Frequently Asked Questions
I’m on a fixed deal. What happens to my rates?
You’ll keep your existing Opus Energy rates and terms. Nothing changes — Pozitive will honour your contract exactly as it is.
Can I switch suppliers after the transfer?
If you're on a fixed deal, early exit fees may apply. But we can help you assess whether switching makes financial sense.
If you're out of contract or on variable/deemed rates, you can switch at any time without penalty. In fact, it’s a great time to get a tailored quote.
I’m on a variable or deemed rate. What happens after the switch?
You’ll be placed on Pozitive Energy’s default rates, which may not be the most competitive. We can help you move to a fixed deal — with PE or another supplier — depending on what suits your usage and budget.
I’m moving out after 1 May. What should I do?
Contact us directly. We’ll handle your change of tenancy (COT), final reads, and account closure or setup.
What happens to my Direct Debit?
It will transfer automatically to Pozitive. Please don’t cancel it — doing so can cause payment failures and admin issues. Let us know if you need to update banking details.
I pay by BACS. Any changes?
No action needed. Your new invoices will include the updated payment details.
I’ve got credit with Opus — will I lose it?
No. Once your final Opus invoice is generated and any credit is confirmed, it will be passed on to Pozitive Energy.
Will I have an account manager?
Yes. Pozitive Energy assigns account managers post-transfer. But if you work with us, you’ll also have our direct support, meaning you can escalate issues or request quotes at any time — without waiting on hold.
💡 Who Are Pozitive Energy?
Pozitive Energy (PE) is a UK-based energy supplier focused on serving commercial clients. They’ve now confirmed that they’ll be taking over all Opus business accounts and will be issuing a Welcome Pack to each customer shortly after the transition.
This pack will explain:
- Your new billing schedule
- How to access and manage your account
- When your payments will be collected
As a consultancy, we already work directly with Pozitive Energy, so we’re in a strong position to help you make sense of your new setup — or help you compare alternatives.
🔍 Should You Stay with Pozitive Energy?
While your contract is transferring automatically, that doesn’t mean you’re stuck. Many businesses take this opportunity to reassess their deal and lock in better rates elsewhere — especially if you’re coming off a fixed-term Opus contract.
We can:
- Review your current position
- Benchmark Pozitive’s renewal offer
