Gazprom Energy is receiving an increasing number of queries from customers and partners about how current geopolitical matters may impact our ability to sell and supply gas to customers.
The situation is continuously evolving and we would therefore like to share the following statement with customers and partners who have questions or concerns.
Gazprom Marketing & Trading Retail Ltd (Gazprom Energy) is a UK company that supplies 20.8% of non-domestic gas volume in Great Britain. We supply gas to over 100,000 sites and source all our gas (and electricity) from our parent company Gazprom Marketing & Trading Limited, which is likewise a UK company and operationally independent in the wholesale energy markets. We source our gas through commodity exchanges in exactly the same way as our competitors, and we do not depend on gas supplies from Russia.
We have been supplying gas in the UK since 2006, and we are confident that we will honour our contractual obligations to customers and partners with the same level of commitment as always.
For those concerned about the continuity and security of their gas supply from Gazprom Energy - Ofgem regulates the gas supply market in Great Britain and has measures in place, as seen in the recent number of market failures, to ensure the continuity and security of supply of gas to domestic and non-domestic premises via National Grid and gas transporters.
The statement is available on their website which can be found here:
Hopefully this helps allay a lot of the fear/worry regarding Gazprom customers.
