24/01/2022 - Weekly Wholesale Market Update

Gas market remained relatively stable in comparison to last week with a slight increase in wholesale costs. Electric wholesale markets have once again increased


Gas: NBP gas contracts strengthened on Thursday, despite strong LNG supplies and forecasts for increased temperatures as trading within the carbon markets rallied throughout the day. This morning NBP gas contracts have opened higher, as demand strengthens and trading within the carbon markets remain firm.

Power: UK power contracts gained value on Thursday supported by the stronger trading within the NBP gas market, as trading within the carbon markets strengthened. UK power contracts have mirrored the upward direction within the NBP gas market following strong trading within the carbon markets.


Today, the Electric wholesale prices have opened up 21.88% Higher than this time last week with Gas Increasing by 0.52%
